PITTSBURGH –The first weekend of November was a busy one for TRA open and masters athletes. On Saturday, several members participated in the Lois Stobbs Memorial Veterans 10k in Wheeling, WV. Now in its 6th year, the monies received from the race are donated to Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). The Association has used this competition for its 10K Championships since the races inception. The event also includes a walk with plaques awarded to overall men’s and women’s 1st -3rd place finishers and masters men’s and women’s 1st & 2nd place winners.
The TF/LDR committee also rewards open and masters athletes in this event and other races to encourage participation in these age groups. The 1st place Open or Masters athlete, for men and women, receives $100 and the 2nd place athlete receives $50.

On Sunday, more athletes headed to Coopers Lake Campground for the TRA Cross County Association Championships. The race featured TRA Board Member athlete representatives Caleb Muller and Brian Brown. Each produced strong performance and took home the first place prizes their age divisions.
