GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2016 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships was held from July 14-17 at Grand Valley State University. The event welcomed athletes from ages 30 – 100+ and these competitors did not disappoint. Several meet records fell including a new world record in the M45-49 400m.
Several TRA athletes made it to the podium throughout the 4-day event and these finishes included seasoned participants and new comers alike.
Newcomer Lisa Lucas earned a gold medal in the W50-54 10,000m. This was her first race on a track and her performance was highlighted in a USATF write-up found here.
Dick Monheim of the Steel City TC placed 2nd in the M70 10,000 run. His 2nd place finish put Steel City TC on the score board with 6 points.
Jo Rupp produced a 2nd place finish in the W40 5000m.
Dan Goodyear brought home a bronze medal in the M60 High Jump.
TRA performances were rounded out with a pair of 4th place finishes from Steve Crelli in the M55 5000m and Donna Zukas W60 Outdoor Pentathlon.
