Zukas earns silver at World Masters Athletics Championships

PERTH, Western Australia – Donna Zukas will bring home some hardware when she returns from the 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships. The competition is being contested from October 26 – November 6th, 2016 in Perth, Western Australia.

On day 3 of the competition (October 28th) Zukas competed in the W60 SP Heptathlon earning a second place finish to secure silver with a throw of 6.34m; good for 497 points. She served as a member of the bronze medal W50 4x100m team. Zukas also participated in the traditional Heptathlon on days 1 & 2 of the competition.

Donna Zukas has been active all year long in preparation for the World Masters Athletics Championships. She was a multiple-event champion in the high jump, discus, hammer, javelin and shot put at the 2016 Three Rivers Association Championships. Zukas also placed 4th in the Outdoor Pentathlon at the 2016 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships

Zukas was joined about fellow TRA Masters athlete, Erick Friedman. He competed on October 29th and placed fifth in the M40 javelin with 48.51m. Friedman earned the 2016 TRA Honors Male Masters Athlete of the year award this past September.
